Research:
My main area of research is Financial Literacy and Financial Education. My research has been supported by the Academy of Finland-funded projects Game-based Financial Education in Schools (2016-2018) and Financial Literacy and Over-indebtedness in Finland (2013-2017). Currently I am subproject leader in the AoF / STN funded Digiconsumers project. I lead also the ERDF-project PEEK and Finnish National Agency of Education-funded project related on teacher training.

Other:
I was the chairman of the Professors' Union's Vaasa Chapter (2015-2016) and represented the University of Vaasa in the national council of the Professors' Union in 2016-2018.
In 2012-2013, I was the president of the Finnish Economic Association.
I was the 2016 Recipient of the Warren Samuels Prize (together with Simon Cornee and Ariane Szafarz), awarded by the Association of Social Economics.
