The Open University is an organisation that provides university-level education for anyone interested, regardless of educational background or age. Teaching is aimed to be arranged during evenings and weekends so that as many students as possible are able to participate. Open university education has the same goals, contents and requirements as teaching at the university. Courses will be subject to a course fee.
Studying at the Open University
The University of Vaasa Open University provides versatile studies and the possibility to study more flexible hours. Teaching is arranged mostly online. However some of the courses may be arranged as contact teaching in Vaasa and in our partner organizations as well.
Biggest part of our courses are taught in Finnish. However, there are more and more courses to be taught in English in our selection of courses each year. If you are interested in studying for a degree, you can find more information about the master’s and doctoral programmes through the link below. The University of Vaasa does not offer bachelor's degree studies in English. You can ask for more information about the degree programmes from the International Office of the university.
