The studies prepare you to lead innovation in industrial energy systems, focusing on product and service development, delivery, and use. Successful completion of the Lean Six Sigma Statistical Control course will also grant you a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

Courses combine lectures, teamwork assignments, projects, presentations, and final exams. The programme is delivered through a mix of online and in-class teaching and is designed as a full-time, on-campus experience in Vaasa. In the final spring semester, some courses are offered in a hybrid format to support flexible online participation. The studies last two years and comprise 120 ECTS credits.

Strategic Project Management offers a world-leading programme for developing project managers and leaders who can operate in this demanding new environment and deliver successful projects and initiatives. The studies are designed for practitioners interested in deepening and widening their competence, expertise and professional practice, and for graduates who are looking to move into project management.

Our studies in Strategic Project Management educate experts who can consider the needs and opportunities of project management theory, concept and analysis in an engineering context. You will learn how to plan, manage, and execute projects, while also gaining insights into industry standards and relevant frameworks. When using analytical tools for decision-making, planning and control, you will be able to manage projects in a lean and strategically effective way. You will learn about innovations and sustainability as well as ethical practices in project management. The content of the programme is designed to be compatible with the requirements of the IPMA level C. If you have a sufficient working history, you can pursue the IPMA level C certificate at your own cost and take the certification examination. 

These studies are aimed at students who have a Bachelor of Science in engineering and are willing to work with themes related to project management, project business, and engineering management.

After completing this degree, you will be eligible for doctoral studies. You will be able to develop sustainable and ethical solutions and new knowledge to benefit society and industry. Moreover, you will gain valuable career skills such as problem-solving and decision-making, critical thinking and working in international teams.

The duration of studies is 2 years (120 ECTS credits). This is a full-time on-campus programme taught completely in the city of Seinäjoki (80 km from Vaasa).

These studies will prepare you for specialist roles in supply chain management, logistics, innovation management, product and service development, and operational leadership and opens the door to a dynamic career where you can lead the way in creating sustainable solutions for the future. In addition, the degree provides eligibility for doctoral studies in the field of business studies.

This studies are aimed at students who have a bachelor’s in business (operations management, supply chain management, operations research, management information systems, or related areas). 

In Industrial Management you can specialise in either Supply Chain Management and Operations Management or Technology Management and Innovations. You can also take the IPMA certification test, and if successfully passed, use it as a proof of basic project management skills. 

Vaasa, at the heart of the growing renewable energy sector in the Nordic Countries, offers excellent opportunities for close cooperation with energy companies. Both local business networks and international connections are integrated into teaching: students plan and conduct small research projects that combine theoretical frameworks with empirical studies in companies.

Courses consist of lectures, group work, projects, presentations, and final exams. The studies include both online and in-class teaching.
