Specialists for international financial markets Master’s Degree Programme in Finance

In the programme you’ll gain deep expertise in corporate finance, investment decisions, financial markets, and risk management – and learn to analyze financial data using real-world tools like the Bloomberg Lab, which is a real-world trading room simulation that allows students to monitor and analyse real-time financial markets data. Accreditations – ensuring quality education

The School of Accounting and Finance is ranked among the top research centres in Europe thanks to our high-quality teaching staff and scientific research. The programme is the only Master's programme in Finance that is EFMD-programme accredited in Finland, the second CFA-affiliated Finance programme in Finland and fourth CFA-affiliated Finance programme in Nordic countries.

All business studies programmes at the University of Vaasa have been granted the internationally renowned AACSB accreditation, ensuring that each programme meets a high quality standard. 

All international master’s programmes in economics and business at the University of Vaasa are EFMD-accredited. EFMD is a quality label for business and management education programmes with an international focus.

Double Degree Programmes

The Master's Degree Programme in Finance has developed double-degree programmes with high-quality universities in Sweden, France and Slovenia. Students can apply to gain degrees from two countries and benefit from international experience which is valued by future employers.

Who can apply? How to apply?

You are eligible to apply if you have a bachelor’s degree in business administration in the field of finance or banking. If you do not have one of these degrees, your background education is considered suitable if the degree includes min. 20 % of academic business studies, or at least 35 ECTS (or equivalent) of academic business studies have been completed outside of the degree. The academic business studies must consist of one or several of the following: corporate finance, investments, derivatives, financial mgt, financial markets, financial reporting, banking, financial modeling.
