Bachelor’s programme in Business Administration

Our Bachelor’s Programme in Business Administration is a full-time, three-year programme (180 ECTS), delivered on-site at the University of Vaasa, Finland’s largest educator of business studies. It prepares you to continue your studies directly at Master’s level (3+2 years). You will study in an international environment, gaining expertise in management, marketing, international business, and industrial management, while tailoring your studies through specialisation modules and electives.

You will learn to understand companies, their organisation and their business environments from a viewpoint that integrates sustainable business, energy and society. Your studies include core business subjects, interdisciplinary modules, international exchange opportunities, and internships, ensuring both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

Year 1 consists of introductory studies that includes courses in study skills and technology as well as introductory courses in business studies. Years 2 and 3 offer major and specialisation studies, such as mandatory subject-specific studies, profiling modules and specialisation electives. Graduation from the Bachelor’s programme gives you eligibility to a range of the University of Vaasa’s master’s programmes without a separate application process: International Business, Strategic Business Development, and Industrial Management. Students who have the required Finnish skills can also choose from the Finnish-language master’s programmes in Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Accounting and Auditing, and Economics.

In the third year of the programme, you will complete the bachelor’s thesis. Additionally, you will develop communication and language abilities, with international students reaching B1-level Finnish to support career opportunities in Finland.
