Master's Degree Programme in International Business (MIB)
Global business requires graduates who can navigate uncertainty and have a comprehensive understanding of the field. As the need for responsible and sustainable practices of companies, consumers, and societies will continue to grow, our Master’s degree programme in International Business focuses on sustainable global business to meet these challenges.
The interdisciplinary programme covers three key areas: global strategies in a digital world, global marketing and entrepreneurship, and leading people in a global business environment. In addition to theoretical knowledge, students will develop vital working life skills such as critical thinking, decision-making and cross-cultural communication.
With support from internationally recognised professors and real-world insights from business partners, students can bridge the gap between theory and practice.
Upon graduation, you are awarded the degree of Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration.

All business studies programmes at the University of Vaasa have been granted the internationally renowned AACSB accreditation, ensuring that each programme meets a high quality standard.
All international master’s programmes in economics and business at the University of Vaasa are EFMD-accredited. EFMD is a quality label for business and management education programmes with an international focus.
Double Degree Programmes
The programme also offers a great opportunity for selected students to strengthen their international competence by completing the second year of their studies in one of our four double degree partner universities in Europe. In a double degree programme students gain degrees from two countries.
Who can apply? How to apply?
You are eligible to apply if you have a bachelor’s degree in business administration in the field of international business, brand management, consumer behavior, cross-cultural management, digital marketing, human resource management, international marketing, management, marketing, organizational leadership or supply chain management.
If you do not have one of these degrees, your background education is considered suitable if the degree includes min. 20 % academic business studies, or at least 35 ECTS (or equivalent) of academic business studies have been completed outside of the degree. The academic business studies must consist of courses in one or several of the following fields: international business, marketing, HR management, strategic management.
