The University of Vaasa's international Master's programmes attracted applicants from all over the world. In the call for applications that ended last week, a total of 1,402 applications from 83 different countries were received for Master's programmes. It is over 23 per cent more than last year (2020: 1137). Six Master’s programmes were open for applications, and the number of individual applicants increased by more than 19 per cent from last year.
Campus development, the new strategy and internationality rose strongly to the forefront at the University of Vaasa's anniversary celebration on Wednesday. The research project led by the University of Vaasa receives funding in the amount of EUR 950,000 from the Building the Future - Taking Action programme of the Centennial Foundation of the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries and Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation. The project will research the application of small satellite technology for precise positioning of indoor spaces and navigation. A new small satellite will also be designed in the project. The partners are National Land Survey of Finland, University of Tampere and Aalto University.
