Giovanna Pinilla De La Cruz

Researcher (D.Sc.) at the Strategic Business Development Unit, School of Management, University of Vaasa, Finland. Currently working on clean hydrogen related projects including the co-evolution of hydrogen markets and energy ecosystems, business models for eSAF, green ammonia, eMethane, and the use of biogenic CO2. Previous experience as a postdoctoral researcher, combining roles as project leader and researcher in regional development initiatives focused on enhancing flexibility in regional energy systems and developing a regional clean hydrogen ecosystem. Doctoral degree in Technical Sciences from the University of Vaasa and a Master of Engineering (Dist.) from the University of Sheffield, UK. Pedagogical studies at the University of Turku (25 ECTs). Speaker and seminar organizer at key regional events, including Energy Week 2025 and 2026 and Wasa Future Festival 2025. Research interests are related to public-private collaboration, ecosystems, market shaping and value-sharing in clean hydrogen and renewable energy. Publications in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Cleaner Production, Sustainable Development, International Journal of Energy Sector Management, Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing, and Focus Localis.
