According to Junhua Jiang's doctoral study, real estate control policies in China that aim at stabilizing or slowing house price growth can reduce two types of real estate risks to banks: discount rate risks and overall risks of the real estate firms to banks. Real estate control policies, however, cannot constrain another type of real estate risks to banks: risks of the real estate market to banks.

Coming back to the home country seems to be a smooth process for the expatriated international dual-career couples, according to a new study from the University of Vaasa.

“The comprehensive interviews which have been conducted with 36 expatriates and their dual-career partners show that the return is actually much more pleasant than anticipated”, says Agnieszka Kierner, who will defend her doctoral dissertation in Management on March 16th.

Four Finnish higher education providers, the University of Vaasa, Aalto University, Tampere University and Åbo Akademi University, are engaged in establishing a research consortium together with the companies Wärtsilä and AGCO Power and other corporate and research partners. The research consortium sets out to create a roadmap towards low-emission seafaring technology and work machines and realise these objectives through innovation. The consortium also aims at developing flexible fuel technologies and estimating the effects of these on the entire value chain of the industries involved. Business Finland is financing the preparation project.

Current European regional development strategy, Smart specialisation, is suggesting that public organisations should step up their game in regional innovation activities and look for new solutions, which are based on the new use of current regional activities.
