University of Vaasa to strengthen its Executive Education with new flexible model

Image
The University of Vaasa introduces greater flexibility into its executive education offering. Going forward, University of Vaasa’s Executive Education programs will be offered under the new Advanced Management Programs (AMP) brand.

Unlike traditional fixed programme structures, the new model is based on stackable and modular learning opportunities, offering participants greater choice in how they develop their expertise. Certificates and diplomas will be awarded at different stages of the learning journey. The new model will respond more effectively to topical themes and global business trends, enabling participants to develop the skills and knowledge needed to navigate an increasingly changing business environment.

– This model will strengthen our ability to respond quickly to evolving business needs and provide targeted learning opportunities in specific areas of expertise. It will also offer professionals greater flexibility to build their competence according to their individual development needs and career goals, says Vice Rector Martin Meyer from the University of Vaasa.

The programs will consist of stackable courses that award ECTS credits. The credits may be used, for example when applying to a co-doc program, subject to the admission requirements of the program in question.

The new offering builds on the University of Vaasa’s internationally recognised strengths as one of only three institutions in Finland holding both EQUIS and AACSB accreditations. The University also ranks first in Finland for research quality and is the only Nordic University recognised by BSIS for its impact.

As part of this transition, the University of Vaasa will transform its Executive MBA (EMBA) program. The University remains committed to supporting students who are currently enrolled in the EMBA program and will continue to provide support during the transition period. Current EMBA students will be contacted directly with further information about the arrangements and the support available to them. Once all students have been contacted, we will provide further information about the arrangements and schedule for completing ongoing EMBA studies.

University of Vaasa appreciates the commitment of its EMBA students, alumni, faculty and partners and looks forward to continuing to provide new offerings through the Advanced Management Programs model.
