Study opportunities for everyone
In open university you can study courses of the University of Vaasa regardless of your age, study background and life circumstances. Teaching is arranged mostly online. In case of contact teaching, the teaching will be arranged mostly in the evenings and weekends so that as many students as possible can participate.
Selection of courses for the academic year 2026–2027
To be able to enrol in the courses you'll need Finnish social security number and online banking codes.
Here you can find the selection of open university courses of the University of Vaasa for the academic year 2026–2027. The enrolment for the courses for the academic year 26-27 will begin on 12 August 2026 at 10 AM! Please check the detailed schedule and performance information for each implementation before registering! Each implementation has a limited number of places, and places will be filled in the order of registration. Please note, that the course codes that start with AY, are open university's own implementations. Other courses are integrated to degree students' groups, which means that they might have daytime teaching on campus.
