Project description

The energy transition – that is, the shift toward the efficient and widespread use of renewable energy sources – is becoming technically feasible, but the markets have not yet fully transformed; fossil energy sources still dominate globally. The need for a systemic transformation and scalable solutions is therefore evident, both from the perspective of the state of the environment and international security.

The objective of the project is to identify and engage with actors in the energy sector who are striving to advance the energy transition (including large corporations, medium-sized enterprises, entrepreneurs, public organizations, higher education institutions/research institutes, and financiers) and to implement disruptive innovations related to the energy transition. As a result of the preparatory phase, key value chains essential to the energy transition will be selected—those identified as having the greatest potential for future business and export opportunities.

In the Transformation Design preparatory project, 1) the value chains of the case targets will be mapped, 2) the value-creating disruption points within them will be defined, and 3) the foundation will be laid for development projects aimed at addressing the needs identified at these disruption points. The case targets of our project are pilot-scale battery cell production, a zero-emission data center, and a self-sufficient greenhouse.
