Research:

My main area of research is Financial Literacy and Financial Education. I am currently (2016) the leader of two Academy of Finland projects on this topic. I have also several smaller grants on the topic.

I am the chairman of the Professors' Union's Vaasa Chapter.

In 2012-2013, I was the president of the Finnish Economic Association.

I was the 2016 Recipient of the Warren Samuels Prize (together with Simon Cornee and Ariane Szafarz), awarded by the Association of Social Economics.
