The campus development project at the University of Vaasa is on schedule. Renovation of Luotsi is complete, and the premises will be handed over to the university today, on 15 July. The building has been completely renovated and a new glass extension has been built to it.

The academic library has been closed from customers since 24 June. The library will begin moving to the new premises immediately after the hand over has been made. Library staff will move to the renovated premises during August. The Tritonia Academic Library will open for customers 1 September when the official opening ceremony is held. The library will attend to customers with all their study and scientific needs. Main customer base is from the University of Vaasa, Vaasa University of Applied Sciences and Novia, but the library is also an open public library.

The renovation brings light and spaciousness to the whole building. The new entrance with the added glass extension and the open lobby on the second floor create a coherent whole. The glass extension is intended to be used as a workspace for library visitors. This space of approximately 50 square meters will have desks, that can be used by visitors. On the second floor, visitors can also find areas for working and quiet spaces. Luotsi is intended to be the new meeting place on campus and a place for everyone.

The outside area will also receive a facelift. The revetment at the main entrance will be renewed and the garden area will be improved. Places for bicycles will be available on the Wolffintie side of the building.
