Honorary Doctorate Celebration for Jacob Wallenberg

The University of Vaasa nominated Jacob Wallenberg, Chairman of Investor AB, as an honorary doctor at the conferment ceremony of doctoral degrees in September 2024. Due to his work commitments, Jacob Wallenberg could not attend the actual ceremony and was conferred in absentia. At the upcoming celebration, honorary doctor Wallenberg will receive the symbols of the honorary doctorate - a hat, a sword, and a diploma. 

The event will feature speeches by honorary doctor Wallenberg,  Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Joakim Strand and Rector Minna Martikainen. The speeches will address economic growth in Finland and Europe and the university's growing role in supporting it.

Time: Tuesday 11 March 2025 at 2.30 PM
Place: Levón Auditorium, Tervahovi building (Wolffintie 32)

After the event, refreshments will be served at restaurant Mathilda.

Dress code: Dark suit
