The 24th Workshop on Corporate Governance and Investment (WCGI) will be held at the University of Vaasa on September 19-20, 2025.

The WCGI aims to serve as a forum for discussing the latest research on corporate governance, with a particular on the ways corporate governance mechanisms facilitate the efficient allocation of corporate investments and their implications for policy design. The WCGI also welcomes research on sustainable finance, broadly defined as investments that pursue objectives beyond financial returns. The WCGI covers a range of topics in corporate governance and investment, such as corporate boards, executive remuneration, ownership structure, capital markets, institutional investors, and regulation.

The WCGI will be a two-day event held in a single-track, plenary format. The WCGI offers an informal forum for lively collegial interaction, with ample time dedicated to open discussion.

Submissions:

Authors interested in presenting their research at the WCGI are invited to submit their papers via this submission form. The submission deadline is May 15, 2025, and authors will be notified of the decision by mid-June.

Venue and Organizing Committee:

The WCGI will be held at the University of Vaasa in Vaasa, Finland. The members of the organizing committee are Sami Vähämaa (University of Vaasa), Marc Goergen (IE University), Niels Hermes (University of Groningen), Miguel Angel Garcia Cestona (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), Rafel Crespi (University of the Balearic Islands), and Marc Steffen Rapp (Philipps-Universität Marburg).

About the WCGI:

The 1st WCGI was held at the University of Cambridge in 1998.
