Venue

The University of Vaasa welcomes you to the most beautiful campus in Finland!

Situated on the shore of the Kvarken, the narrow part of the Gulf of Bothnia between Finland and Sweden, the University of Vaasa campus combines the beauty of Finland’s unique archipelago landscape with vibrant city life. The campus is located within walking distance of Vaasa’s city centre, offering visitors easy access to both nature views and urban amenities.

The campus is a distinctive blend of history and modernity, featuring repurposed red-brick factory buildings dating back to the 19th century alongside carefully renovated and contemporary facilities. As the venue for the Thematic Conference, it provides an inspiring setting with high-quality, aesthetically designed spaces for meeting, sharing ideas, and fostering new connections.

Situated off the coast of Vaasa, the Kvarken Archipelago was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2006 for its outstanding geological value. The region offers a unique opportunity to witness post-glacial land uplift, a process that has been reshaping the landscape since the end of the last Ice Age. Visitors can access the archipelago e.g. through the island of Raippaluoto, located about 25 kilometres from Vaasa city centre.
