Short videos as news sources for young people (Lyhytvideot nuorten uutislähteenä)

The aim of the project is to find out what makes short videos interesting and convincing, especially in a journalistic context. The topic will be explored from the perspective of young Finnish adults and in different video sharing applications. Young people are avid users of short videos, but their use as a news source is still limited. However, the supply of journalistic short videos is increasing and traditional media outlets such as the BBC, Washington Post, Yle and Helsingin Sanomat have also started to use the format.
