INCORE – Innovative and Competitive Research and Learning Infrastructure
Project information
Project description
INCORE (Innovative and Competitive Research and Learning Infrastructure) strengthens Technobothnia as a collaborative research, development, innovation, and education hub in the Vaasa region. The project brings together universities, industry, and public stakeholders to create a shared vision and operating model for future research infrastructures.
The project assesses the current capabilities of the Technobothnia laboratory environment, identifies future needs of industry and research organizations, and develops a roadmap for investments, competence development, and ecosystem collaboration. A key objective is to improve interoperability between research infrastructures and to support technology development across different Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), from research and validation to demonstration and market deployment.
INCORE promotes the integration of physical laboratories, digital platforms, simulation environments, and emerging virtual capabilities such as digital twins. The project also strengthens links to national and international research networks and supports the objectives of the clean energy transition.
As a result, Technobothnia will evolve into a more strategic, scalable, and industry-oriented infrastructure ecosystem that accelerates innovation, supports lifelong learning, and enhances the competitiveness of regional companies and research organizations.
