Introduction

Amir-Mohammad Shamekhi is a postdoctoral researcher in the University of Vaasa. His research area includes:

  • Engine Control System Design
  • Control Theory
  • Machine Learning
  • Control-Oriented Modeling
  • Noise and Vibration
  • Condition-based Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis.

So far, he has published numerous articles in some prestigious journals. He has also authored a book on Engine Control System Design in CRC Press (Taylor & Francis).

During his time in the University of Vaasa, he has participated in several high-impact projects in cooperation with industry, such as:

  • CPT (in the advanced combustion engine control sections)
  • Silent Engine (in the NVH simulation and control sections)
  • DAZE (in the fault diagnosis sections).
  • Flex-CPT (WP1, in engine control task; WP4, in aftertreatment diagnosis; WP5, Battery management and control)

He is now the leader of the Control sub-team in the Efficient Powertrain Solutions (EPS) team under the supervision of Prof. Maciej Mikulski. He also teaches the following courses in the Master’s program in Energy technology discipline in the School of Technology and Innovations:

  • Model-Based Engine Control,
  • Principles of Control.
