In our Computing Sciences master’s programme, we offer majors taught in English and Finnish to future Masters of Science in Technology graduates for the fields of automation technology, telecommunications technology, and information technology and Masters of Science in Economics and Business Administration graduates for the field of information systems science. Two study tracks are offered in Finnish (automaatio ja tietotekniikka i.e. automation and information technology, tietojärjestelmätiede i.e. information systems science), and three in English (Automation and Robotics, Sustainable and Autonomous Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering). The English-taught major, Sustainable and Autonomous Systems is a collaborative programme with the University of Oulu, leveraging the strengths of both universities in sustainable energy systems and intelligent, autonomous systems.
Automation, telecommunications, and information technology bring intelligence to various devices and systems so that they operate efficiently, reliably, and as autonomously as possible. Through telecommunications, devices communicate with each other and enable remote management of systems. The themes of the study track include automation, software and telecommunications technology, artificial intelligence methods, robotics, embedded systems, cybersecurity, computer modelling, and application-specific digital solutions such as data centre systems, positioning technologies, and the utilization of satellite data.
In information systems science, digitalization is harnessed to serve business objectives. In the field of information systems, both business and digitalization expertise are essential. Studies in the information systems science study track, combined with business studies, provide a solid foundation for working as a business developer in various industries and sectors. A student studying information systems science acquires the skills to utilize information systems expertise in developing business systems.
