Ostrobothnian Chamber of Commerce award to Katja Sirviö: "The energy crisis can boost the use of renewable energy"

The Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce has awarded Katja Sirviö a prize of EUR 5,000 for her doctoral dissertation on the development of electricity distribution networks. The prize was awarded on 2 September at the opening ceremony of the academic year at the University of Vaasa.

Four prerequisites help identify tax avoidance

How do you know whether a transaction constitutes tax avoidance or not? In her doctoral dissertation, which focuses on Finnish tax legislation and its interpretation, Siru Kaunisto from the University of Vaasa has studied the identification of tax avoidance and examined the prerequisites of tax avoidance. She has also discussed the effects of EU law on identifying tax avoidance.

Freeha Hussain landed a traineeship already after her first term at the University of Vaasa. She graduated in May 2022 and is now working full time as an HR specialist in a global team at Wärtsilä. The opening ceremony begins with an impressing procession as the members of the scientific community, who are all dressed in dark suits or dresses, make their way along the corridors of the Tervahovi building. Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects: University of Vaasa is among the top 200 universities in business administration

University of Vaasa's ranking in business administration has improved in the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects published by Shanghai Ranking. The ranking, published in July, evaluated more than 5000 universities in 54 different disciplines.

Renovation of Luotsi at the University of Vaasa campus is complete – The academic library opens next autumn

The campus development project at the University of Vaasa is on schedule. Renovation of Luotsi is complete, and the premises will be handed over to the university today, on 15 July. The building has been completely renovated and a new glass extension has been built to it.
