Rector Minna Martikainen elected as the Vice-President of the European EUNICE university network

Minna Martikainen, the Rector of the University of Vaasa, has been elected as the Vice-President of the European EUNICE university network starting from November. The network of ten European universities develops research collaboration and multidisciplinary educational offerings to address global challenges.

University of Vaasa's sixth Ceremonial Conferment of Doctoral Degrees will be held from 19 to 21 September 2024. The Conferment Ceremony is the highest celebration of academic work. Those who have completed their doctoral degree receive the insignia associated with the doctoral status - the hat, the sword and the diploma - in the Conferment Ceremony.

Katja Rajala has been chosen as the alumna of the Year

Chair of the Women Entrepreneurs of Finland, entrepreneur Katja Rajala has been elected as the University of Vaasa's Alumna of the Year 2024.
Rajala graduated from the University of Vaasa in 2007 with a Master's degree in Social and Health Administration. Her minor was public law.
