Housing in Vaasa in autumn 2026

Some of our new students are still looking for housing from Vaasa or the surrounding area or is queuing up for an apartment. Here we have gathered information about different housing options and accommodation solutions available for students. The University of Vaasa has collaborated with various actors to provide students with as many housing and temporary accommodation options as possible at the start of their studies.

It is still worthwhile to apply for VOAS apartments, even if you have not received an apartment from the beginning of the academic year. The apartments are currently in high demand, but the apartments will also be available later in the academic year.

Other rental housing providers can be found, for example, in the Accommodation in Vaasa, Seinäjoki and Pori section of the website for new students and from private landlords. It is also worth looking for an apartment outside the city centre and the campus area, as commuting in Vaasa is smooth both by bus and by bike. 

Cohabitation may be a good option. Larger apartments are often found more easily than studios. The Student Union of the University of Vaasa has been involved in launching the KämppisFinder application, which allows you to find a roommate and search for an apartment together. Temporary accommodation solutions are also available. The University of Vaasa has negotiated opportunities for students to stay in GreenStar Hotel Vaasa, for example, at contract prices. In addition, you can inquire about accommodation at the Omena Hotel and DP Apartments, which offers furnished apartments.
