Nikos Hatziargyriou - a member of VEBIC advisory board - has won the Global Energy Prize

Professor Nikos Hatziargyriou from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) has won the Global Energy Prize in the category of New Ways of Energy Application.

Hatziargyriou received the award for outstanding and sustained contribution in operation and control of microgrids on September 8.

Nikos Hatziargyroiu is a member of VEBIC advisory board.

He leads the successful Smart RUE RDI team and SG laboratory in NTUA and he is the vice chairman of ETIP SNET (European Technology and Innovation Platform for Smart Networks for the Energy Transition). Hatziargyroiu has operated as CEO and chairman of the board of HEDNO (Hellenic Distribution Network Operator) and he is the vice president and chairman of the board of PPC (Public Power Corporation).

The Global Energy Prize is one of the most prestigious international awards granted for outstanding scientific achievements in the energy field. The award has been granted annually since 2003.
