Scientific Board
The Scientific Board of the University of Vaasa brings a valuable insight into the development of the University. The purpose of the Scientific Board is to give input to the University's strategy, resources, structure and research focus.
The members of the Scientific Board are:
- professor Christoph Böhringer (University of Oldenburg)
- professor Tomas Kåberger (Chalmers University of Technology)
- professor Johann Füller (University of Innsbruck)
- professori Ulrich Hommel (EBS)
Christoph Böhringer, Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Oldenburg in Germany, is an expert in energy economics. In addition to the professorship, Böhringer is also a member of the Research and Innovation Expert Council (EFI), which advises the German federal government. He previously served as a professor at the University of Heidelberg and as head of Environmental and Resource Economics, Environmental Management research -unit at the well-known German economic research institute ZEW. Professor Tomas Kåberger is Professor of Industrial Energy Policy at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. He has a doctorate in engineering. Kåberger has previously served as Executive Director of the Swedish Energy Authority (Energimyndighet). Kåberger spends part of his time in Tokyo, where he is the director of JREF, Japan’s renewable energy organization. He is also a member of Vattenfall's Board of Directors. 2012 Prof. Dr. Johann Füller took office at the University of Innsbruck’s faculty for Business Administration, where he holds the recently founded chair for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Department of Strategic Management, Marketing and Tourism. He is Fellow at the NASA Tournament Lab-Research at Harvard University and CEO of Hyve AG, an innovation and community company. In line with his research focus, he regularly gives guest lectures about co-creation, online branding, creative consumer behavior, online marketing, open innovation, and the utilization of online communities. From 2008-2010, Johann was a visiting scholar and research affiliate at MIT Sloan School of Management. See more information about Johann Füller.
Professor Ulrich Hommel is Professor of Finance at the EBS School of Economics in Wiesbaden, Germany. He is the Director of Quality Services at the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), which implements international EPAS quality accreditations in the field of economics.
