Publiikki Graduation Event

Publiikki is a joint celebration for all our academic units, where graduates with a master's degree, a diploma in engineering, and a doctorate are celebrated. Publiikki is held twice a year, in June and December. All those who have graduated since the last Publiikki are welcome to attend.

The next Publiikki will be held on Wednesday, 16 September 2026 at 14:15, in the Levón Auditorium at the University of Vaasa. Graduates can invite 1–3 guests to the celebration. This Publiikki is intended for those graduating on 31 July and 28 August, 2026.

Please note that the University of Vaasa does not provide invitation letters for visa applications for guests of the Publiikki event. This page may be used as a reference when stating the purpose of the trip.

Registration

Please register for the Publiikki by 28 August 2026.

In the registration form, graduates will also provide information about their guests (1–3 people) as well as any special dietary requirements.

All registered participants will receive more detailed instructions via email approximately one week before the event.

Programme and Duration

Each ceremony includes:

  • Greeting from the Rector
  • Greetings from the Deans
  • Individual recognition on stage
  • Speech by a graduate

The duration of each event, including refreshments, is approximately 1.5 hours.

A professional photographer will be present in the lobby of Restaurant Mathilda, next to the photo wall. Participants may have photos taken with their loved ones. Photos will be delivered afterwards via a download link to all registered participants.

Dress Code

The Publiikki is a festive occasion, and attire should reflect the significance of the graduates' achievements. Appropriate dress can be a suit, dress trousers with a jacket and shirt, a stylish dress, a trouser suit. 

Degree Certificate

Degree certificates are not distributed at the Publiikki. On the graduation day, the electronic degree certificate will be available in the student’s Peppi dashboard, from where it can be downloaded.

Certificate folders will be available at the Publiikki.
