Stephen Onifade

Stephen Taiwo Onifade (PhD) is an Associate Professor at the University of Vaasa (Finland) where he conducts research in the areas of Sustainable Development, Energy & Resource Economics. His research covers various aspects of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including SDG-7 of clean & affordable energy, and SDG 8 & 13 of decent work/economic growth, and climate action respectively. He is particularly passionate about energy and climate related issues in emerging economies and many of is research have covered the E7 economies and the sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries. He has authored many peer-reviewed scientific publications and participated in EU-funded project. Some of his research work have featured in leading publication channels including; Applied Energy, Sustainable Development, Energy Economics, Journal of Cleaner Production, Environmental Impact Assessment Reviews, International Journal of Sustainable Development & World Ecology, Sustainable Energy Technologies & Assessment, Energy & Environment, and Journal of Economic Structures among others. He is a research fellow at the Economic Research Center (WCERC) of Western Caspian University (Baku, Azerbaijan), INTI International University (Malaysia), and at the Center for Sustainable Development and Green Innovation Research at Bahçeşehir University (Cyprus). He speaks Yoruba, English, Turkish, and he is currently learning the Finnish language.
