by appointment.

I am engaged in research and teaching within the field of information systems science at the School of Technology and Innovations, University of Vaasa.
My research primarily revolves around digital transformation, enterprise architecture, energy informatics, citizen science, and project management. I have contributed to publications in reputable journals such as Information Systems Frontiers, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Telecommunications Policy, Electronic Journal of e-Government, First Monday, Journal of Information Systems Education, and Digital Policy, Regulation, and Governance Journal. In addition, my papers have appeared in book chapters published by Springer and Taylor & Francis.
My scholarly papers have also been presented at leading information systems conferences, including, for instance, the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS), Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS), Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS), and Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS).
In addition to my research endeavors, a focus on teaching has been an important part of my life since I graduated. As a lecturer my philosophy might be summarized as helping students become a master of the teaching subjects. This requires me carefully choosing didactic methods and content that teach students current, rigorous, well-tested frameworks, theories, and techniques. Therefore, I have used a variety of teaching methods and didactic models over the years depending on context, class size and course topic. Currently, I teach Master-level courses such as Information Systems Project, Research Methods, and Enterprise Architecture.
As a thesis supervisor, I mentor students on a variety of topics, including digital transformation, enterprise architecture, IS strategy, software development projects, agentic information systems artifacts (e.g., chat GPT), and user experience from different perspectives, to name just a few.
