With a background in pediatric nursing, my research interests stem from the welfare service administration and participative decisionmaking. The Delphi-method I used my doctoral thesis, guided me to the field of futures research. While becoming aware of the fields methodological and ontological evolvement towards the outlining of desired future, I became interested of the theory and arising discipline of anticipation. In my research I combine the fields of public administration, complexity and anticipation, with deliberative democracy ethos as an enabling and consolidating factor.
I am a member in the new Complexity Research Group https://www.univaasa.fi/en/tutkimus/ryhmat/kompleksisuustutkimusand the national complexity network. I also act as a vice-chairwoman in the Finnish Institution of Deliberative Democracy (DDI) as well as an official for the national Association for Administrative Sciences.
