FAQ about Finnish and Finnish courses

I already know some Finnish, should I still start with Finnish as a foreign language 1a? If not, how do I know which course to enroll in?

– Each course has its own target level or aim, which corresponds to The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). See the aim levels in the course descriptions in the study guide. For example, if you would estimate that your Finnish skills correspond to level A2, you could start out at for example Finnish as a foreign language 3a. However, check which courses are mandatory in your degree. You can also always ask the Finnish teachers to check you level, we are all glad to help!

Are the Zoom lessons mandatory?

– Yes, as are campus lessons. Each course and group has real-time lectures, either on campus or online. Before registering, please check that the course schedule is right for you. You need a computer camera and a microphone when you are attending an online course.
