Latest updates on the coronavirus situation at the University
General safety instructions – protect your health and the health of others
By following the coronavirus protection guidelines, we act in solidarity and at the same time take care of our own and each other's health safety. You can only come to the campus if you are in good health and follow the safety and hygiene instructions.
The University continues to recommend the use of protective face masks at your own discretion and in situations where several people are present in facilities and avoiding close contacts is difficult.
On-campus teaching has been increased in spring 2022. Mass lectures have also been possible to arrange from 1 March onwards.
Coronavirus instructions for students
More information for students is available from the student pages. Students are also advised to actively follow the University's main page, their student mail, Moodle, Lukkarikone and WebOodi.
International students can come to Vaasa if possible within the existing travelling restrictions. International internships continue within the limits set by the authorities.

Events can be organised on campus according to the following principles:
- Following the decision of the Regional State Administrative Agency for Western and Inland Finland, there are no restrictions on assembly for public events held indoors at the university.
- People can meet inside the university premises provided that health security is considered.
- Please, do not come to the campus if you are ill.
The University of Vaasa moves to flexible multi-location working. In multi-location working, members of staff work 1–5 days a week on campus. The supervisor and employee discuss the alternatives and agree on the forms of work and working on campus.
More detailed instructions for personnel are available from the intranet (requires identification).
