General safety instructions – protect your health and the health of others
By following the coronavirus protection guidelines, we act in solidarity and at the same time take care of our own and each other's health safety. You can only come to the campus if you are in good health and follow the safety and hygiene instructions.
When visiting, studying or working indoors at the university, the use of a face mask is required.
Welcome back to campus! The University of Vaasa will return to contact teaching at the beginning of the autumn semester, with health safety as a guideline and in accordance with official restrictions. Small group teaching is implemented on campus and teaching arrangements are planned to be as safe as possible.
Students can now use all teaching spaces in the Tervahovi and Fabriikki buildings for individual study between 8:00 and 18:00, at times when they are not booked for teaching or other events.
Coronavirus instructions for students
More information for students is available from the student pages. Students are also advised to actively follow the University's main page, their student mail, Moodle, Lukkarikone and WebOodi.
International students can come to Vaasa if possible within the existing travelling restrictions. International internships continue within the limits set by the authorities.

Events can be organised on campus according to the following principles:
- The event organiser is responsible for practices concerning health safety. People should only come to the event if healthy and use a face mask.
- Indoors, there are no restrictions on the use of rooms for less than 100 people. For more than 100 people, a maximum of 75% of the capacity is recommended.
- Outdoors, events are organised following the current recommendations and regulations of the authorities.
In autumn, the university will expand the work of its staff in the so-called to the hybrid model, which means on campus and remote work depending on the job tasks. The staff will return to work on campus from October onwards, working at least 2-3 days a week on campus, depending on the nature of the work. Members of the same team can all work on campus at the same time.
More detailed instructions for personnel are available from the intranet (requires identification).
