Master's Degree Programme in Finance
Students are eligible for admission to the two-year Master’s Degree Programme in Finance (120 ECTS) if they have completed a Bachelor’s degree on an appropriate field. The appropriate fields include business studies, mathematics and statistics. The programme leads to a degree of Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration and approximately 20 students are accepted to the programme annually.
Eligibility
To be considered for admission to the Master's Programme in Finance, the applicant must fulfil the following criteria:
1. Scope of the degree: A 3- or 4-year Bachelor degree at university or polytechnic level
2. Prior studies at Bachelor level or higher in the core areas of the programme
3. Applicant’s performance (i.e. GPA) in previous studies, including the thesis or final report (i.e. the final assignment students must complete in circumstances where a thesis is not used).
- The overall grade (GPA) and the grade of the thesis for a Bachelor’s degree from a university should be at least ‘good’ 3/5 (ECTS grading), or equivalent in the systems not using the ECTS.
- The overall grade (GPA) and the grade of the thesis or final report for a Bachelor’s degree from a polytechnic or university of applied sciences should be at least ‘good’ 3/5 (ECTS grading).
4. English language proficiency as instructed in admission criteria
Selection
Applications that satisfy the above eligibility criteria will be put through a subsequent evaluation process that will determine which applicants are selected for admission to the programme. The criteria used in the selection process are listed below in order of importance. The selection process uses an objective system of points for the evaluation of candidates (in total 40 points). The weight of each of the criteria is following:
1. Applicant’s amount of relevant prior studies and the performance in these (including the thesis or final work) (30 points)
2. Applicant's amount of international experience or/and work experience in areas relevant to the programme (5 points)
3. Applicant's motivation (5 points)
The application and required documents must be submitted according to the instructions and by the deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be processed.
Master's Degree Programme in International Business
Students are eligible for admission to the two-year Master’s Degree Programme in International Business (MIB programme) if they have completed a Bachelor’s degree on an appropriate field. The MIB programme is open both for international and Finnish applicants. The programme leads to a Master of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration. Approximately 30 students are accepted to the programme each year.
Eligibility
To be considered for admission to the programme, the applicant must fulfil the following criteria:
1. Scope of the degree
- A 3- or 4-year Bachelor degree at university or polytechnic level
2. Prior studies at Bachelor level or higher in the core areas of the programme
- For the MIB programme these areas are: international business, marketing, and management and organization
- Other than Business graduates: degree on an appropriate field focusing on international aspects (for example international relations, international politics, international communications) if candidates can demonstrate a proper background in business studies as follows: minimum of 35 ECTS in business studies (international business, marketing and/or management) is required.
3. Applicant’s performance (i.e. GPA) in previous studies, including the thesis or final report (i.e. the final assignment students must complete in circumstances where a thesis is not used)

To be considered for admission to the Master's Programme in Strategic Business Development, the applicant must fulfil the following criteria:
1. Scope of the degree: A 3- or 4-year Bachelor degree at university or polytechnic level
2. Prior studies at Bachelor level or higher in the core areas of the programme:
- For the Programme in Strategic Business Development these areas are: international business, marketing, and management and organisation;
- Other than Business administration field if candidates can demonstrate a proper background in business studies as follows: minimum of 35 ECTS in business studies is required (of which at least 25 ECTS in marketing, management or accounting & finance).
3. Applicant’s performance (i.e. GPA) in previous studies, including the thesis or final report (i.e. the final assignment students must complete in circumstances where a thesis is not used).

To be considered for admission to the Master’s Programme in Sustainable and Autonomous Systems, the applicant must fulfil the following criteria:
1. Scope of the Degree
- A university level Bachelor's degree or higher in one of the following degree programmes: Communications engineering, Electronics or Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation engineering, or similar. The Bachelor’s degree should be equivalent to 180 ECTS corresponding to at least three years of full-time study. Bachelor’s degree must have been granted by an academic, higher education institution, which enables the applicant to apply for higher university degree (master) studies in their home country. Applicants with other degrees are not eligible.
