Eleven University of Vaasa researchers and three part-time or visiting international professors have been named in the recent edition of the Stanford University list of World Top 2% scientists.

The list, published in October, uses Scopus citation data to assess the career-long and one-year (2021) impact of scientists in their specific fields.

Ranked at the highest level are Klaus Grünert (7250), part-time Professor of Marketing at the University of Vaasa / Aarhus University; Nikos Hatziargyriou (8124), Visiting Professor and member of the VEBIC Advisory Board / NTUA; and Martin Meyer (46817), Vice Rector of the University of Vaasa.

Other researchers on the list are Visiting Professor Morten Huse / BI, Professor Petri Helo, Professor Vesa Suutari, Professor Marcelo Simoés, Professor Jouni Lampinen, Associate Professor Miadreza Shafie-khah, Professor Hannu Laaksonen, Associate Professor Xiaoshu Lu, former Assistant Professor Andrew Alola, Senior Researcher Anupam Dutta and Professor Jarmo Alander.

The valuations were calculated using all Scopus author profiles as of September 1, 2022. The database of top-cited scientists provides standardised information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator (c-score).
