Mission Possible science day - a day full of inspiration for the friends of science

The Mission Possible science day featured a large number of presentations and lectures of ongoing research at the University of Vaasa.

During the multidisciplinary science day you could visit the different laboratories at campus and discuss with researchers about their latest research. The programme was open to everyone interested in science.

The rector's panel discussion focused on good science and scientific responsibility and featured Minna Martikainen, Rector at the University of Vaasa, Mikko Hyppönen, Research Director (WithSecure), Riikka Heikinheimo, Director of Competence and Innovation (Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK)) and European Affairs Manager Philippe Vanrie (Wagralim, Ecosystemix).

The science day program offered a wide range of topics from the fields of business sciences, administration sciences, technology and communication sciences. For example, the energy revolution, artificial intelligence, digitalisation, sustainable housing and transport, well-being and remote work were some of the discussed topics.

The science day highlighted research carried out at the University of Vaasa and the importance and impact of science in everyday life as well as in companies and society. It was also a great opportunity for the visitors to ask questions or comment on the topics presented and discuss with the researchers.

The goal of the  science day was to showcase the research work carried out at the university and to enhance future cooperation. Together we can make an impact and create a sustainable future.

The University of Vaasa Science communication award was also presented at the event. Professor Harri Jalonen received the award.
