Student mobility hits record high at the University of Vaasa
The University considers it important for students to have opportunities for internationalisation and mobility.
"Teachers stress the importance of international capacity-building and exchange students encourage others to go out into the world. It is now very popular to go on exchange and become more international," says Juhani Moisio, the international exchange coordinator.
One third of students at the University of Vaasa go to study part of their degree programmes abroad.
"International experience counts in your favour long after you have graduated. Employers in Finland and abroad appreciate the ability to work in an international environment. The University of Vaasa has good connections with the world: it is well worth making use of these during your studies."
The feedback collected from incoming students reveals that Finland is an attractive destination.
"The studies that we offer to exchange students represent one of the most important factors when students decide where to study. And the experiences of past exchange students also make a difference: the students who come to our university have often heard good things about Vaasa from their friends or siblings," says Juuli Honko, the international students’ coordinator.
