Join the live demo of an advanced 3D printer using a 6-axis robotic arm on the 1st of November at 13:00. This new 3D printing technology is being developed under the TB-RAM CoE project, a collaborative project by Novia UAS, VAMK and the University of Vaasa at Technobothnia research centre, Vaasa.

The objectives of the project include free-form printing, large-size printing, and printing using a wide variety of materials. Free-form printing refers to a printing approach that minimizes or makes no use of support structure. Traditional desktop printing has a limited build volume, usually limited to the size of the printer, while the Robotic Printer can produce larger parts. So far, the team has tested over 7 different materials.

Additive Manufacturing, commonly known as 3D printing is gaining prominence in several industrial, personal/hobbyist and educational applications. The Technobothnia Robotic Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (TB-RAM CoE) project has the goal of bringing this new technology to local companies, students, and educators alike; and to deepen the local competencies with regards to additive manufacturing.
