Application round

The application period to the Master's Programme in Industrial Management, for January intake, through rolling admission takes place between 16 August – 13 October 2023 (by 15:00 UTC+3), or until the intake is full. If accepted, studies will begin in January 2024.

We have received a large amount of applications to the January intake, and the intake will be full with the received applications. Therefore, applications are only accepted until Monday the 18th September (by 15:00 UTC+3), and the application round will be closed after that.

Rolling admission means that the 30 first applicants who fulfill all the admission criteria will be admitted. Applicants that satisfy all the criteria will be admitted in the order they apply until the intake is full. The students that are admitted through rolling admission are admitted to the same programme as students that are admitted through the main application round and regular rolling admission. Applicants who have not yet graduated can apply to the programme and be conditionally accepted as long as they graduate by the 31 December.

Admission Criteria

As admission is based on the documents you submit along with your application, it is very important that you prepare your application with care and submit all the required documents. The programmes only evaluate complete applications, i.e. applications that contain all the required documents.

The eligibility for studies in the Master's programmes is evaluated on the basis of your previous education. According to the Universities Act (558/2009), section 37, eligible for studies leading only to a higher university degree shall be a person who has

1. an applicable lower university degree;
2. an applicable polytechnic degree; or
3. an applicable education completed abroad which in the awarding country gives eligibility for corresponding higher education.

The function of the Finnish universities is stipulated in legislation. The Universities Act (558/2009) and the Government Decree on University Degrees, among other decrees, define the objectives, extent and overall structure of degrees. The quality assurance system of the university has passed the audit conducted by the Finnish Higher Education Evaluation Council (FINHEEC).

The study programmes have more detailed admission criteria which they apply in the selection of new students. These criteria, for example, specify the required success in previous studies or level of language skills which is expected of applicants.

Unfinished degree

If you have not graduated by the time you apply to the programme, you are required to submit an officially certified copy of your latest transcript of records (please also see if country-specific requirements apply to you). The anticipated graduation date should be clearly stated on the application (for example a document from the institution indicating the expected time of graduation).

You can be conditionally accepted, and you will need to graduate with required grades by the 31 December 2023. Evidence of the completed degree needs to be presented to the University by the 2nd January 2024.

In addition, if the country-specific requirements apply to you, you must submit your educational documents according to these requirements by the 15th November 2023, or the study place
will be cancelled.

Tuition fees and scholarships

Tuition fee in the Master's Programme in Industrial Management is 10 000€ annually.
