Vanja Piljak is a University Lecturer in Finance at the University of Vaasa. She obtained a PhD in Finance at the University of Vaasa in 2013. She has also been a visiting scholar at the Cyprus University of Technology, IPAG Business School in Paris, and the Auburn University in the USA.
Teaching Interests
University Lecturer Piljak’s teaching interests are financial markets and investments. She has been teaching finance courses at the University of Vaasa for about seven years. She teaches advanced-level compulsory courses: Research in Financial Markets, Investments, and Introduction to Master’s Thesis Research in Finance. She also serves as a supervisor for Master's and Bachelor's thesis.

Her articles have been published in refereed journals such as Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, European Financial Management, International Review of Financial Analysis, Emerging Markets Review, Journal of Asset Management, Finance Research Letters, and Research in International Business and Finance. She serves as a referee in several journals including Journal of Banking and Finance, International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Emerging Markets Review.
