Summer studies 2022
Courses for degree students that can be completed in their entirety during summer 2022 are listed on this website. More detailed information about the courses in Study Guide. Registration will start on in April-May 2022.
Please contact your study counselor if you have questions on whether the studies you have planned are suitable for your degree or not. Particularly if you are completing studies from another university, discuss with your study counselor about matters related to the recognition of studies completed elsewhere. Please also note that it's possible to apply for a compensation of study fee for studies completed outside the University of Vaasa; please see "Course fee compensation" below.
As per the degree regulations at the University of Vaasa, the results of the evaluation in June-July shall be published and registered by the end of August at the latest. For a special reason, the Dean may grant additional time for the evaluation of study attainments. The students shall be informed without delay about the delay and the postponed date of release of the results.
Teaching is arranged during summer period 28.5.–31.8.2022 (weeks 22–34). For further information, please see Academic Year and Registration.
Please notice that completing studies during August requires registering as attending for the autumn semester 2022.

- IBM Academic Initiative
All students at Vaasa University has the possibility to complete online courses provided by the IBM Academic Initiative. The IBM courses give you the possibility to expand your range of knowledge and earn digital certificates and badges. The courses will not give you ECTS credits.

Summer schools
University of Vaasa supports exchange studies at summer schools of the University’s partner universities. Summer schools are a very good opportunity for students who are not able to stay abroad for a whole semester/academic year. Summer school studies take usually from two weeks to two months. Course fee compensation
Degree students can apply for course fee compensation for studies at Vaasa Open University, Vaasa Summer University or other educational institutions that offer university-level studies, if the studies promote graduation and fit well to the University’s education profile. Application for compensation has to be submitted before the planned studies start. More information can be found on the website Modules and Minor Subjects.
