Career Counselling

Career development and planning is a continuous process during the whole study time and also after graduation. Career services at University of Vaasa can follow you on your journey to your dream job and support you during the path.

Career counselling supports students for career planning and personal development. The aim is to identify personal strengths and skills and increase self-knowledge, possibly also transformation of mindset. This will support students in progress of their studies, graduate in time and find work that is relevant to the degree.

Job search counselling helps students identify where they might search for internships or jobs that are best suited to them. Feedback or tips on the cover letter and CV can be given, preparation for job interviews can be practised. Interview preparation and practise, communication, networking and LinkedIn usage, etc.

Booking an appointment

You can book an appointment for career counsellor Malin Wälitalo-Palo on Moodle. Each session takes about 45 minutes. 

How to prepare for the first session

  • After you have booked an appointment, please complete the Kudin survey ( log in using your University of Vaasa username and password) and take the survey results with you or send them to the counsellor in advance by email.
  • Please send your job application and CV by email before the appointment directly to the person you have booked with.
