KvarkenSat is a joint small satellite of the Ostrobothnian provinces and Västerbotten, Sweden, designed by Finnish and Swedish universities and research institutes in a collaboration project ‘KvarkenSpaceEco’ that extends across the Kvarken.

The plans and design for the KvarkenSat small satellite have passed a preliminary review by a panel of international experts, so construction and testing of the satellite are ready to begin.

Welcome to the hybrid release event of the KvarkenSat. You can participate in the event in Vaasa, Espoo, Umeå or Kiruna. The event can also be followed online.

Time:                 Wednesday 1st December 2021 from 11:00 to 12:30 (EET)
Venue:              Auditorium Wolff, University of Vaasa, Wolffintie 34, Vaasa

At the event, you will be able to explore the upcoming satellite through presentations, a demonstration video and a visual model of the cube satellite. The persons involved in the design of the cube satellite will be answering questions.

Come and listen to what kind of payloads the satellite will carry when it will be launched to space in just over a year, and what can be observed and measured with its devices. At the same event, we will also talk about the satellite’s ground station on the University of Vaasa campus, how the ground station operates and how the data generated by the satellite can be accessed through the public portal.

Please register for the event by 30.11.2021 via this link: https://link.webropolsurveys.com/S/7FAFD58781A270C6

The design and future construction of the KvarkenSat small satellite are made possible by the financiers of the KvarkenSpaceEco project, EU Interreg Botnia-Atlantica, the Regional Council of Ostrobothnia and the Region Västerbotten.
