Things to consider when graduating
– Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration:
- Ask the faculty administrative staff to do a revision of your study record, even before your last courses are completed.
- Hand in your master’s thesis to the supervisor and the amanuensis of the faculty (in as many copies as stated in the writing guidelines), no later than 5 weeks (excluding holidays) before the faculty Deans Office Hour.
- When the final version of the thesis has been handed in for evaluation, you can sign up for the maturity test.
- For evaluation of the maturity test, reserve 30 days time (excluding holidays).
- The maturity test can be completed on any of the general examination days, and is written in English (or Finnish/Swedish, see the guidelines).
- Signing up for the maturity test is done with a registration envelope available at the academic affairs office. Do this a minimum of 7 days before performing the maturity test.

- Be sure to hand in the application form for degree certificates no less than 28 days before your intended graduation day. The graduating student is solely responsible for making sure that all the required studies have been completed and entered into the study record when the application is handed in, including the master’s thesis and maturity test.
- A student dissatisfied with the evaluation of his/her thesis can apply in writing for a rectification by the faculty council, no later than 14 days after the student has had the opportunity to review the evaluation results and the individual evaluation criteria.

Things to consider when starting the master’s thesis
– Master of Science in Technology:
- The faculty Dean must approve on the choice of topic and supervisor
- The application form for approval of master’s thesis topic – with an attached statement by a professor of the major subject – must be handed in to the faculty’s administration no less than 2 weeks before the intended faculty Deans Office Hour.
- Any possible supplementary studies must be completed before the topic application is processed.
