The design of the study entity
The multilingual study entity consists of basic studies and subject studies and comprises at the moment 60 ECTS. The multilingual study entity, with its theoretical and practical courses, provides knowledge of multilingualism for those who are concerned with practical multilingual questions and good foundations of further studies and research in multilingualism.Unique education
The education is unique as there is no corresponding equally comprehensive education in Finland. The education is suitable for future language teachers since it is offered in an optimal bilingual milieu and the studies at the same time provide broad knowledge of bi- and multilingualism. Good and intense cooperation between immersion groups in day nurseries, schools and the university also supports multilingual education.In-service training
The researchers of the Immersion Centre take part in the education and in-service training of immersion teachers. The multilingual study entity which forms part of the studies at the Department of Scandinavian Languages of the University of Vaasa, is provided by the researchers of the Immersion Centre.Basic studies
