The Department of Management at the University of Vaasa is Finland's largest education and research unit in its field. It employs seven professors of management and organization as well as 15 to 20 researchers actively involved within this discipline.
The Department of Management was elected by the Ministry of Education as a Center of Excellence in University Education for the period 2004-2006, and again for the period 2007-2009. The department specializes in advanced pedagogy and research activity focusing on contemporary phenomena, in both domestic and foreign work environments.
The key areas of research conducted at the Department of Management are entrepreneurship, networking, leadership, human resource management, and include both domestic and international perspectives.
