Doctoral studies at the University are organised by the Graduate School of the University of Vaasa. Five doctoral programmes offered by the Graduate School are as follows:
- Administrative Sciences
- Business Studies
- Computational Sciences
- Languages and Communication
- Technology and Development
Each doctoral programme is led by a professor of a subject central to the programme. Doctoral students enrolled in the university are also enrolled in these programmes and therefore in the Graduate School of the University of Vaasa.
