Application Form for Master's Degree Programmes

The links at the bottom of this page will direct you to the electronic application forms used by the University of Vaasa.

Application to all five Master’s programmes in English offered by the University of Vaasa must be submitted in the electronic application system. All applicants, both international and Finnish, must apply to these international programmes through the system. The application period for all five Master’s programmes is 1 January – 28 February annually. There is no application fee for the Master's programmes offered by the University of Vaasa.

Filling in the electronic form

The electronic application form must be filled in and submitted in the system by 28 February 2012 at 24.00 (Finnish time) at the very latest. Please fill in the application form carefully. Fields marked with blue asterisk (*) are obligatory. It is very important that you give your full name, correct email address, and full street address in the application form, because all communication about the application process and results is based on the information given in the application form.

After filling in the required fields, submit the form by clicking on the 'Save' button at the bottom of the page. After you submit the information, the system generates a printable application form containing the information filled in to the system. Please remember to print out the generated form because you cannot log in back to the system once you have submitted the data, and the system does not send the prefilled form to your email address for safety reasons.

Submitting application documents to the university

After you have filled in the electronic application form, you should print out the generated form, sign it, and send it with all the required documents (application enclosures) to the University. The mailing address is given in the printed application form. Your application is not complete and cannot be processed unless the printed and signed application form with all the required documents has been received by the university by the deadline.

The deadline for submitting the printed application form and the required documents to the university is 13 March 2012.

Please note that if you apply for more than one programme during the same application round, you must submit a full application file (the application form and all the required enclosures) to all the programmes you apply for. That is, if you apply for two programmes at the same time, you fill in the application form for both of the programmes and submit two sets of application documents, one for each programme you apply for. Please visit Admission Requirements, Application Instructions and Fees for more information on the required enclosures.

Applications must be sent via regular (air) mail or a courier service. Applications sent via fax or email are not accepted. Applications must be sent to:

Address:

University of Vaasa
International Office / Degree Students
P.O.Box 700
FI-65101 Vaasa
FINLAND

Visiting / street address:

University of Vaasa,
International Office / Degree Students
Wolffintie 34
FI-65200 Vaasa
FINLAND

Either one of the abovementioned addresses may be used when sending in the application documents. The street address may be required if the documents are sent through a courier service.

The applicants are responsible for ensuring that their application documents are delivered to the University by the deadline. The university cannot take responsibility for documents not submitted to the university by the deadline (e.g. language test results sent by the testing organisations which are delivered late to the university, documents lost in the mail).

The university will notify the applicant by email once the application is received and processed. Especially in the end of the application period, due to large number of applications received, the processing of applications may take more than one week, and thus the applicants may not receive the email confirmation immediately after the documents have been delivered to the university. The email will be sent after the authenticity of the application documents has been verified and the application checked in regard to the required documents.

The applicants are responsible for ensuring that the required documents are enclosed in the application file or will be submitted separately to the university. If the documents are submitted separately to the university, they should clearly state the name of the applicant and the programme to which the application documents are submitted.

Please note that individual enquiries about receiving an application cannot be answered.
