The Rector and the Senate exercise the highest authority at the university.

The Deans and the Faculty Councils have the authority in the faculties and the board and the director have the authority in the affiliated institutions and service units.

The University has separate committees of education and research set up by the Rector. Issues related to studies and their organisation are covered in the Education Committee. The Committee’s chairperson is the Vice-Rector responsible for teaching and education.

Issues related to research are covered in the Research Committee. The chairperson for this Committee is the Vice-Rector responsible for research.
