English Studies admit 30 major and 30 minor English students each year on the basis of the university entrance test and an English proficiency test respectively.
English as a major subject in the Candidate degree
- Basic Studies 25 ECTS
- Intermediate studies 45 ECTS (including the Candidate thesis, 10 ECTS)
English as a major subject in the Master’s degree
- Advanced studies 80 ECTS (including the Master’s thesis, 40 ECTS
Advanced level studies include a language practice period 1-2 months in an English speaking country.
English as a minor subject in the Candidate degree
- Basic studies 25 ECTS or
- Basic studies 25 ECTS + Intermediate studies 35 ECTS
As many minor students as possible will be offered Intermediate level studies up to 60 ECTS, which is important from the point of view of the students’ future employment in translation, interpreting, teaching, etc.
- Entrance test for majors will be held in June every year
- The English proficiency test for minors will be held at the beginning of September every year
